THERE IS NOWHERE I CAN GO TO GET AWAY FROM BEING GOOD (2022)

THERE IS NOWHERE I CAN GO TO GET AWAY FROM BEING GOOD is a body of work exploring the construction of virginity in a Western Christian context. Challenging the notion of sexual purity within a patriarchal power framework, the exhibition offers the viewer a sensitive and critical experience concerning coming-of-age and formulating an identity on one’s own terms.

Through etymologies, drawings, home videos, childhood photographs, YouTube vloggers, Wikipedia screenshots, hymns, rabbinic oral traditions, and improvised dances, I invite the viewers to speak a new language with me by entering into an unspoken place of feeling within themselves, where all is subjective, all is possible, the personal is political, and the raw parts are exposed.

THERE IS NOWHERE I CAN GO TO GET AWAY FROM BEING GOOD is an exhibition of herstories, some pure, some good, some bad, and some dark.
